Formerly a 37 metre sports yacht, the Gulf Craft-built La Familia is currently undergoing a major refit and extension at Antalya-based Naval Yachts under the project name Cavalli.
The yacht is on schedule for delivery at the beginning of 2023, following which she will debut her all-gold exterior and seven-metre extension at the Monaco Yacht Show.
Reconstruction of Project Cavalli began in 2021 following seven months of engineering work undertaken by Naval Yachts’ in-house engineers, naval architects and exterior designers.
The yacht’s extension will allow for a swimming pool to be added to the foredeck, which required the addition of a ballast tank aft. The seven-metre pool will be temperature-controlled and her owner will have the option of using freshwater or saltwater.
The design brief for Project Cavalli focuses on entertainment and maximising social spaces. Aft of the pool, the foredeck will also offer a bar and lounge area with integrated sound systems.
The yacht’s new beach club will have twin balconies and the flybridge will play host to a five-person jacuzzi. The main saloon will also have balconies that measure three metres by two metres to allow in plenty of air and light.
Project Cavalli borrows her name from her soft furnishings. Cavalli-designed furniture will feature throughout, alongside high-gloss finishes and a sophisticated ebony colour palette.
Accommodation is split across a four-cabin layout comprising a lower deck VIP and two guest cabins plus an upper deck owner’s suite.
The metallic gold exterior is supplied by global paint specialists Awlgrip.
